Čitanje

Nahum 2: 1, 3: 1-3, 6-7

2:1 On se uspinje, koji bi ti se pred očima raspršio, tko bi održao blokadu. Razmislite o putu, učvrsti svoja leđa, uvelike ojačati vrlinu.

3:1 Teško gradu krvi, ispunjen svakojakim lažima i nasiljem. Zločin neće otići od tebe:

3:2 glas biča, i glas kotača koji se okreću, i od konja koji njiše, i goruća kola, i konjanici koji jašu,

3:3 i blještavog mača i sjajnog koplja, i o mnoštvu pogubljenih i teškoj propasti. Nema kraja ni mrtvim tijelima, i oni će pasti ničice na svoja mrtva tijela.

3:6 I bacit ću na tebe gnusobe, i ja ću vas mučiti zlostavljanjem, i ja ću od tebe učiniti primjer.

3:7 I ovo će biti: svi koji te vide, ustuknut će od tebe, a on će reći: "Niniva je opustošena." Tko će nad tobom glavom odmahivati? Gdje bih mogao tražiti utjehu za vas?

Matej 16: 24-28

16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “If anyone is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

16:25 For whoever would save his life, will lose it. But whoever will have lost his life for my sake, shall find it.

16:26 For how does it benefit a man, if he gains the whole world, yet truly suffers damage to his soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

16:27 For the Son of man will arrive in the glory of his Father, with his Angels. And then he will repay each one according to his works.

16:28 Amen, kažem ti, there are some among those standing here, who shall not taste death, until they see the Son of man arriving in his reign.”
