Feasta St. Marcáil

First Letter of Peter

5:5Mar an gcéanna, young persons, be subject to the elders. And infuse all humility among one another, for God resists the arrogant, but to the humble he gives grace.
5:6Agus mar sin, be humbled under the powerful hand of God, so that he may exalt you in the time of visitation.
5:7Cast all your cares upon him, for he takes care of you.
5:8Be sober and vigilant. For your adversary, the devil, is like a roaring lion, traveling around and seeking those whom he might devour.
5:9Resist him by being strong in faith, being aware that the same passions afflict those who are your brothers in the world.
5:10But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will himself perfect, confirm, and establish us, after a brief time of suffering.
5:11To him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
5:12I have written briefly, through Sylvanus, whom I consider to be a faithful brother to you, begging and testifying that this is the true grace of God, in which you have been established.
5:13The Church which is in Babylon, elect together with you, greets you, as does my son, Marcáil.
5:14Greet one another with a holy kiss. Grace be to all of you who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Marcáil 16: 15 – 20

16:15 Agus a dubhairt sé ríu: “Imigh leat go dtí an domhan ar fad agus seanmóir an Soiscéal do gach créatúr.

16:16 Beidh an té a chreid agus a baisteadh a shábháil. Ach go fírinneach, an té nach gcreidfidh, daorfar é.

16:17 Anois beidh na comharthaí seo ag gabháil leo siúd a chreideann. I mo ainm, cuirfidh siad amach na deamhain. Labhróidh siad i dteangacha nua.

16:18 Tógfaidh siad suas nathair, agus, má ólann siad aon rud marfach, ní dhéanfaidh sé dochar dóibh. Leagfaidh siad a lámha ar na heasláin, agus beidh siad go maith.”

16:19 Agus go deimhin, an Tiarna Íosa, tar éis dó labhairt leo, tógadh suas ar neamh, agus tá sé ina shuí ar dheis Dé.

16:20 Ansin siad, ag leagan amach, preached i ngach áit, agus an Tiarna ag comhoibriú agus ag daingniú an bhriathair leis na comharthaí a théann leis.
