Leabhar an Fháidh Ieremiah 31: 31-34

31:31 Féach, tá na laethanta ag druidim, a deir an Tiarna, when I will form a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
31:32 not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers, in the day when I took them by the hand, so as to lead them away from the land of Egypt, the covenant which they nullified, though I was the ruler over them, a deir an Tiarna.
31:33 But this will be the covenant that I will form with the house of Israel, tar éis na laethanta sin, a deir an Tiarna: I will give my law to their inner most being, and I will write it upon their heart. Agus beidh mé a n-Dia, and they shall be my people.
31:34 And they will no longer teach, a man his neighbor, and a man his brother, ag rá: ‘Know the Lord.’ For all will know me, from the littlest of them even to the greatest, a deir an Tiarna. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will no longer remember their sin.

Soiscéal

An Soiscéal Naofa de réir Mhatha 16: 13-23

16:13 Ansin chuaigh Íosa isteach i gcodanna de Caesarea Philippi. Agus chuir sé ceist ar a dheisceabail, ag rá, “Cé a deireann fir gurb é Mac an duine é?”
16:14 Agus dúirt siad, “Deir cuid acu Eoin Baiste, agus adeir cuid eile Elias, fós deir daoine eile Ieremiah nó duine de na fáithe.”
16:15 Dúirt Íosa leo, “Ach cé a deir tú gur mise?”
16:16 D'fhreagair Síomón Peadar ag rádh, “Is tusa an Críost, Mac an Dé bheo.”
16:17 Agus mar fhreagra, Dúirt Íosa leis: “Is beannaithe thú, Síomón mac Ióna. Óir níor nocht feoil agus fuil seo duit, ach m'Athair, atá ar neamh.
16:18 Agus a deirim ribh, gur tusa Peadar, agus ar an gcarraig seo tógfaidh mé m'Eaglais, agus ní bheidh forlámhas ag geataí Ifrinn ina aghaidh.
16:19 Agus beidh mé a thabhairt duit eochracha an ríocht na bhflaitheas. Agus cibé rud a cheanglaíonn tú ar talamh, beidh sé ceangailte, fiú ar neamh. Agus pé rud a scaoilfidh sibh ar talamh, scaoilfear saor é, fiú ar neamh."
16:20 Then he instructed his disciples that they should tell no one that he is Jesus the Christ.
16:21 From that time, Jesus began to reveal to his disciples that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and to suffer much from the elders and the scribes and the leaders of the priests, and to be killed, and to rise again on the third day.
16:22 Agus Peadar, ag cur ar leataobh é, began to rebuke him, ag rá, “A Thiarna, may it be far from you; this shall not happen to you.”
16:23 Agus casadh ar shiúl, Jesus said to Peter: “Faigh i mo dhiaidh, Sátan; you are an obstacle to me. For you are not behaving according to what is of God, but according to what is of men.”
