Eaxodus 1: 8-14, 22

1:8 Meanwhile, there arose a new king over Egypt, who was ignorant of Joseph.

1:9 And he said to his people: "Féach, the people of the sons of Israel are many, and they are stronger than we are.

1:10 Tar, let us wisely oppress them, lest they multiply; and if any war should advance against us, they may be added to our enemies, and having fought against us, they might depart from the land.”

1:11 And so he set over them masters of the works, in order to afflict them with burdens. And they built for Pharaoh the cities of the tabernacles: Pithom and Raamses.

1:12 And the more they oppressed them, so much more did they multiply and increase.

1:13 And the Egyptians hated the sons of Israel, and they afflicted them and mocked them.

1:14 And they led their life directly into bitterness, with hard work in clay and brick, and with all kinds of servitude, so that they were being overwhelmed with the works of the land.

1:22 Dá bhrí sin, Pharaoh instructed all his people, ag rá: “Whatever will be born of the male sex, cast it into the river; whatever will be born of the female sex, retain it.”

10:34	Ná ceap gur tháinig mé chun síocháin a chur ar an talamh. tháinig mé, gan síocháin a sheoladh, ach an claíomh.
10:35	Óir tháinig mé chun duine a roinnt ar a athair, agus iníon i gcoinne a máthar, agus iníon-chéile i gcoinne a máthar-chéile.
10:36	Agus beidh naimhde an duine ina naimhde dá theaghlach féin.
10:37	An té a bhfuil grá aige d’athair nó do mháthair níos mó ná mise, ní fiú dom é. Agus an té a bhfuil grá ag mac nó iníon os mo chionn, ní fiú dom é.
10:38	Agus an té nach dtógann a chros, agus lean mé ní fiú dom.
10:39	An té a fhaigheann a shaol, caillfidh sé é. Agus cibé duine a bheidh a shaol caillte mar gheall orm, gheobhaidh sé.
10:40	An té a fhaigheann tú, fhaigheann me. Agus cibé duine a fhaigheann mé, faigheann sé an té a chuir mé.
10:41	An té a fhaigheann fáidh, in ainm fáidh, gheobhaidh sé luach saothair fáidh. Agus an té a gheobhaidh na cóir in ainm an chirt, gheobhaidh sé luach saothair an chóir.
10:42	Agus cibé duine a thabharfaidh, fiú le ceann amháin díobh seo a laghad, cupán uisce fuar a ól, in ainm deisceabal amháin: Amen a deirim libh, ní chaillfidh sé a luach saothair.”

11:1	Agus tharla sé sin, nuair a bhí Íosa críochnaithe ag teagasc dá dháréag deisceabal, d'imthigh sé as sin le teagasc agus le seanmóireacht ina gcathracha.
